My art is about the connection between the sacred and the mundane,
about everyday miracles and acts of courage that make the tapestry of
our lives so much more endurable and extraordinary. I've always been
somewhat of an autobiographical and narrative painter. My imagery comes
from real life, dreams, mythology, folklore and religious traditions.
I paint and draw with mixed media on a variety of surfaces-canvas,
paper, mat board, recycled printing plates, building paper, door skin
and aluminum flashing. I work large or small scale, with fine or recycled
materials, and with classical or contemporary themes. I've taught art
classes at College of the Redwoods and numerous workshops and classes
for children as well as instructed adults with disabilities. I live in
Manila, California, with my son.
